Contact

Pawdget is made by one person, so there is one mailbox rather than a support desk. Write to it about anything on the site — a figure that looks wrong, the embeddable calculator, the data behind a page, or a privacy request.

[email protected]

This is the only contact channel. There is no phone line, no live chat and no contact form that disappears into a queue — mail reaches a person directly.

You can also use the Feedback button at the bottom of any page. It takes a message without an email address, which is the quickest way to flag a wrong number if you would rather not write a letter. What it stores is listed on the privacy page.

What is worth writing about

A figure that looks wrong. The most useful kind of mail we get. Name the page and the number, and if you have one, a source — a vet invoice, a store listing, a published survey. Corrections go into the dataset, so every page that uses the figure changes at once, and the source list on the methodology page changes with it.

A source that has moved or been updated. We re-check every source once a year, which means we will sometimes be citing last year's edition of a survey. Pointing at the new one saves us months.

The embeddable calculator. Shelters, rescues and breed clubs can put the cost calculator on their own page — see the embed page. Write if you need a variant that page does not cover.

Data and press requests. Journalists and researchers can ask for the figures behind a page, including the ones we have not published as a table yet. The model and its formulas are already public on the methodology page.

Partnerships and advertising. We disclose every paid link on the page where it appears, and no partner influences a number — the how we make money page explains the arrangement. Offers that depend on changing a figure or hiding the disclosure are declined.

Privacy requests. Ask us to delete a feedback message you sent, or to leave your site out of the embed host list, and we will.

What we cannot help with

We are not a veterinary service and cannot answer questions about a specific animal's health, symptoms, medication or treatment. Those belong with a veterinarian who can examine the animal.

We also cannot find you a dog or a cat, rehome one, put you in touch with a breeder, or negotiate with a shelter, an insurer or a store on your behalf. Pawdget publishes what things cost; it does not broker anything.

How long a reply takes

Usually a few days. Mail about a wrong figure is read first, because it affects every page built on that number. Mail with no question in it — link exchanges, guest-post offers, SEO services — is not answered.

Informational only — not veterinary advice. See your veterinarian.
